Use this page to get in touch about anything on the site. The messages worth writing in about, roughly in order:

  • A conversion that returns the wrong number. This is the one that matters most. Name both units and give the figure the page returned alongside the figure you expected.
  • A bug. A calculator that doesn't respond, a result that renders off-screen, a table that breaks on your phone. Naming your browser helps.
  • A unit or a conversion we don't cover. Especially units in regular use somewhere that the site currently ignores.
  • Press or business enquiries. Advertising, partnerships, and similar.

Every conversion on this site runs in your own browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. That is good for your privacy and awkward for diagnosis: there is no server-side log of your session to look up afterwards. A report has to carry enough detail to reproduce the problem on its own.

Reporting a Wrong Conversion

Conversion rates on this site are data, not arithmetic invented per page: each category carries a table of factors, and every calculator derives its result from that table. A wrong answer is therefore almost always one wrong number affecting every page that touches the unit, which is why these reports are worth sending and why they get fixed quickly.

What makes a report actionable:

  • Both units, named in full. "Fluid ounces to millilitres" rather than "oz to ml" — several units share an abbreviation, and US and imperial fluid ounces are not the same size.
  • The input you entered and the output you got. Copy the number exactly, including decimal places. Rounding at the fourth decimal and a genuinely wrong factor look identical when the figures are approximate.
  • The result you expected, and where it comes from. A textbook, a standards body, or an official definition carries more weight than a second website, which may well be repeating the same error.

Reports that arrive with those three things get checked against the site's own accuracy tests, and a confirmed error is corrected at the source, for every page that shares the factor.

What Happens Next

Messages arrive in a single inbox that is read in batches rather than watched continuously. A realistic expectation is days rather than hours, and longer over holidays. There is no support desk behind this form, and no ticket number comes back to you.

Wrong-result reports jump the queue, because a bad factor affects everyone using that conversion rather than the one person who noticed. Requests for new units are kept and revisited when categories are extended; more arrive than can be built.

Not every message receives an individual reply. Every one is read.

Before You Write

A few questions come up often enough to answer here.

Is a small difference in the last decimal place an error? Usually not. Results are rounded for display, and a value carried to more places elsewhere will disagree in the final digit. A genuine error shows up early in the number, not at the end of it.

Do the units differ between countries? Often, yes, and that accounts for a good share of reports. A US gallon is about 3.785 litres and an imperial gallon about 4.546; US and imperial pints, quarts and fluid ounces diverge the same way. Check which one the page names before writing in.

Should you send a spreadsheet or a file? Please don't. A short example that reproduces the same wrong answer is more useful, and it keeps your data on your own device, where this site is built to leave it.

Is there an email address instead? The form is the way in. It routes everything to one place and avoids the spam a published address attracts, which is what keeps genuine reports visible.
